Both Spiritually and devotionally significant Thangal Para is a remarkable attraction in Vagamon. Situating at a height of more than 2500 feet above the sea level, it is famous for the unique rock formation on the top of a rocky hill. This huge spherical rock formation at the top of the hill houses the tomb of Sheikh Fariduddin, a Sufi saint from Afghanistan, which is a famous pilgrimage centre of Muslims. Thangal Para is not only meant for Muslim pilgrims but also a fascinating tourist destination for families, adventure seekers and nature lovers. The hill offers wonderful trekking opportunities for both beginner and expert trekkers.
Kurisumala, which literally translates as ‘Cross Mountain’, is a Christian pilgrim centre that is a two-kilometer drive from Kumily . Pilgrims climb the mountain on Good Friday in remembrance of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the ultimate sacrifice for mankind. The place is also known for its enchanting natural beauty.

Kottathavalam waterfalls is situated in the Adikaram of Poonjar. The falls is situated inside a thick forest. Three kilometer adventurous trekking
through a hazardous forest is needed to reach the place. The route was very hard and adventurous.Two small water crossings are on the way. The top view resembles an infinity pool. There are many chances of danger on the way.
Vagavanam is one of the beautiful gifts nature has to offer. This place can give you countless number of reasons to fall in love with mother nature. It is a unique and outstanding destination located in the Idukki district of Kerala. It’s a forest area, so one has to get permission and tickets from Kumarikulam checkpoint. A guide will take you for trekking through the tranquil Vagavanam. Within 1 kilometer, There is a forest watchtower and the view from this tower is something out of the world. From the watchtower, you can experience a panoramic view of Vagamon, Kulamavu Dam and its reservoir, Kizhakkalachi hills, and the mountain ranges surrounding the Vagavanam.
The Tourism Minister Mr P. A. Mohamed Riyas has inaugurated the first caravan park in Kerala at Vagamon. The caravan park, named Karavan Meadows, came up in Nallathanni on Vagamon-Elappara Road, and is a project by ADRAK Group. The parking lot has facilities for preparing food and conducting campfires.
